Who would have guessed that a few miles from the Massachusetts state line in South Nashua there is a neighborhood in the middle of the Southwest Park conservation land. The Terrell Farm was added to this conservation area in 2011 when the City of Nashua purchased an additional 40 acres of historic farmland that was the homestead of British Revolutionary War soldier Edward Turrell, who started farming this land in 1777.
The 40.34-acre property fits in with a large area of protected land that extends from the southwest corner of Nashua into Dunstable, Mass. The Terrell land lies adjacent to the Groton Woods Conservation Easement and near Yudicky Farm, Lovewell’s Pond and the large Dunstable Land Trust.
